It’s my last week of uni and I’m at breaking point – BUT I LOVE getting film developed and that’s the bonus of studying photography at uni. You have the perfect excuse to spend a ridiculous, soul stealing amount of money on film!
This series includes my first time experimenting with a toy camera! I borrowed a Diana Mini from uni and it was SO MUCH FUN! It has 3 settings and manual loading and winding of film which gave me results that I was not expecting but that’s just what I love about the art of film – lots of surprises (this is not a sarcastic statement; neither was that).
The inspiration for this shoot came from what it means to be a lady. I love all things feminine, the qualities, the fun, the dressing up, the celebrating of little joys in life. This series is to embrace the quiet strength of womanhood, the fragrance of life, the memories of fashion and the beauty of life.
The film used from this shoot is Fujifilm Superia x-tra 400, none of the images are edited. So, the unexpected results are the overlapping of the images in each shot. Because of the manual winding of film, sometimes it doesn’t wind properly and well, these are the results you get. I love them! and I really want to buy a Diana Mini ASAP.
anyway, please enjoy these images and please share your thoughts and comments below! I would love to know what you think!
